Houldsworth Working Men’s Club

Located in a stunning purpose-built, Grade II listed, late-19th century building designed by the famous local mill architect Abraham Stott.

This long-standing and popular social club has some magnificent features and large, high-ceilinged rooms, which are used for a variety of social and leisure activities.

We supplied them with a Sound Leisure ‘Milestone In Music’ digital jukebox containing over 30,000 tracks and every Top 40 hit since 1952. With this we supplied speakers spread over 2 rooms and remote volume controls situated behind their bar so the staff could have complete control over how the system was used. We also connected into their existing concert-room system so that they could use the jukebox content in that area too.Houldsworth WMC

The background music facilities in the jukebox give access to program certain styles of music to play at different times of day, allowing the midday drinkers relax and digest to more soothing sounds than the more lively evening drinkers prefer. As they opted to pay for their rental outright, the management get keys to the unit and complete control over the pricing policy and the contents of the cashbox.

They’re not just your average jukebox either, these ‘Milestone In Music’ units also provide the facility to operate as a Bingo machine (all you need are the cards & dabbers) and as a quiz machine (just add paper & pens).
